About this independent guide
A small editorial team writing practical, neutral information about Marrakech gardens.
Who we are
Marrakech Garden Trails is a small independent publication written by travellers and garden enthusiasts who have spent many seasons in Morocco. We started the site because we noticed how often visitors were confused about timed entry at Jardin Majorelle, worried about unofficial sellers, or unaware that the city has several other beautiful gardens that are much less crowded.
Our aim is simple: to provide clear, neutral and practical information so that you can plan your own visit with confidence. We write in plain English, avoid exaggeration and update pages when we notice that something has changed.
What we do and do not do
We publish descriptions, history, visiting patterns and general advice. We do not sell tickets, tours, transfers or any other product. We do not run a reservation system, we do not collect payments and we do not take commissions from gardens, museums, guides or hotels. There are no forms on this site and no user accounts.
We are not affiliated with Jardin Majorelle, the Fondation Jardin Majorelle, the Yves Saint Laurent museum, Le Jardin Secret or any public authority. Names of gardens and institutions are used only to identify the places we describe. Whenever a detail such as price, opening hours or entry rules matters, we direct readers to the official source managed by the site itself.
How we research
Our content is based on personal visits, publicly available information from the gardens and cultural institutions, and widely documented historical facts. We avoid publishing exact prices or timetables that change frequently, because outdated numbers can mislead travellers. Instead, we describe the general pattern and recommend checking the official channel shortly before your visit.
We also try to reflect the experience of different travellers: families with children, older visitors, people with reduced mobility and photographers who want quiet moments. If you notice something that is out of date, we are grateful for a short email.
Editorial principles
- Independence: no paid placements and no affiliate links.
- Accuracy: we correct errors promptly when they are reported.
- Respect: we describe local culture and heritage with care.
- Safety: we encourage visitors to use official channels and to avoid unsolicited offers.
- Transparency: we state clearly what we are and what we are not.
Why gardens
Marrakech's gardens are more than pleasant places to rest. They show how generations of engineers, rulers, artists and gardeners shaped water and shade in a dry landscape, from the Almohad basins of the Menara and the Agdal to the twentieth-century artistry of Jacques Majorelle. Visiting them slowly is one of the best ways to understand the city, and we hope this guide helps you do just that.
Get in touch
You can reach the editorial team by email or telephone; details are listed on our contact page. Please remember that we cannot answer questions about specific reservations, refunds or entry confirmations, because we do not handle them. Those questions should go directly to the garden or museum concerned.
